Dr.Tony Helman (MB, BS, Dip.Obst.RCOG, Mast.Med, D.Hum.Nutr, MRACGP) is the Editor-in-Chief of the Arbor Nutrition Guide.
Dr. Helman is a physician and nutritionist based in Australia. He has been active in the teaching of nutrition to family physicians for more than a two decades. He has served on numerous committees and panels related to this interest, including:
- Chairman of the Australian Iron Status Advisory Panel
- Chairman of the International Primary Care Nutrition Network
- Chairman of the Nutrition Advisory Group of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
- Australian Health Department working party on nutrition education for the medical profession
- National Health and Medical Research Council Nutrition Education Sub-committee
His research interests include: nutritional assessment, vitamin testing methodology and vegetarianism.
Dr.Helman has published papers in various journals, including in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, where his most recent paper was on Nutrition and general practice: an Australian perspective.
