Australian Meat & Livestock Industry web site
An industry site from Australia, but one with lots of material of interest to nutritionists and educators alike. There is valuable reference data on the nutritional content of various meats, as well as material from their popular series of lay handouts, and past issues of their newsletter for dietitians. Together with recipes, the combination makes for a very worthwhile visit.
Meat-ing Place
This is a "global information hub of the red meat and poultry processing industries." Sponsored by meat and chicken processing publisher in US, (e.g. "Meat Marketing & Technology"), this page has links to meat and poultry science, industry associations and resources.
Beef Info: Canadian beef industry
More beef than nutrition oriented, but there is some good information on fat and iron in the nutrition section.
Cowtown: National Cattlemen's Beef Association
Beef and cattle raising information and promotion in the US. Includes some documents on scientific aspects. This includes the Beef Handbook, which has general Information on beef industry, and particularly regarding environmental issues (written from positive perspective). See also entry below.

Colourful site maintained by the American meat industry. It has lay and agricultural material, and their perspective on the nutritional, environmental and economic aspects of meat consumption is worth reading.

A very well designed site with lots of information for health professionals, consumers (including children) and the meat industry.

Has a good set of links to web pages of its members organisations, and to food safety, HAACP and industry sites generally.

Dairy and egg industry

Dairy Australia
Web site for the industry organisation (that combines the old Australian Dairy Corporation and Dairy Research Development Corporation. The site has a lot of information on the dairy industry and on dairy food issues, and nutrition resources such as nutrition and health publications for both the lay public and health professionals, as well as dairy based recipes etc. The site is well maintained and very useful. The organisation maintains a completely different web site just devoted to links to Internet dairy resources.
Canadian Dairy Commission
Industry and product rather than nutritionally oriented site.
British Columbia Dairy Foundation
"The mission of nutrition education at the B.C. Dairy Foundation is to promote optimal health in B.C. through leadership in nutrition education and by facilitating selection of healthy food in accordance with Canadian nutrition recommendations." The web site has information about their education program and resources, not the material itself, other than a lay section on calcium and lactose intolerance.

Web site for the UK Dairy industry has news, features on the industry, an industry data base, and information on the school milk program in the UK.

The International Dairy Federation
"an independent, non-profit association

The Canola Council in Canada has put up a colourful web site with information on Canola organisations, growers' manual, nutrition and recipe section and agricultural reports. They also have one of the better lists around of links to other agricultural and food production web sites, particularly, those relevant to canola and to Canadian agriculture.
Flax seed: Essential Nutrient Research Corporation
Some information on flax, flax seed oil, and related issues to due with omega fatty acids from a commercial entity involved in this area. However, although there are a reasonable number of headings to click on, the information under each one is quite brief.
Malaysian Palm Oil Promotion Council
Agricultural, marketing and nutrition perspective. The web site is in English.
