Very large listing of agribusiness, food industry & forest industry associations on the Internet, compiled by Carol Singer of the USDA's National Agricultural Library. Listed by geographical area, including international. This new resource from the Agricultural Trade and Marketing Information Center section of NALUSDA won't win any prizes for graphic appeal, but the breadth of research that went into this document is extraordinary.
AgriSurf!
A truly enourmous catalogue of agricultrual sites, at last count nearly 7,000 in all, broken down into over 30 categories, with search engine. Categories include sustainable farming, organic food and agribusiness.

The Global Grocery List Project
School project which encourages students to collect local grocery prices for a variety of specified items and add them to a global list. Students from around the world can compare foods and prices, and teachers can use the figures for math, nutrition and Social Studies activities.

Well presented site with links to many other sites on Australian food industry, both primary and food processing industries.
Food Science Australia
"Australia's largest food research and development organisation. It is a joint venture of the CSIRO Division of Food Science and Technology and the Australian Food Industry Science Centre". Information on its facilities, and lots of resources on food science generally, including a large, annotated listing of other food science sites, calendar of food industry events and Food Safety and Hygiene, a bulletin for the Australian food industry, and patient leaflets.

Canada

Canadian Agri-Food Research Council
Industry body which operates as "a national coordinating system for agri-food research and technology transfer in Canada and is a catalyst for building consensus on related priorities. CARC's committee system consists of participants from all sectors (industry, university and government) who identify issues and opportunities to be addressed through research." The web site is mostly organisational information.
Canadian Food Inspection Agency
Lot of material on food law.

Information network for the Canadian food industry, joint pilot project of the Food Institute of Canada and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

European Food Information Council (EUFIC)
Non-profit organisation supported by food companies to work with press, health educators and public on food issues. Web site has information on biotech, food safety and a newsletter Food Today, as well as a search engine. There are also some nutrition information on obesity and highligihts of commissioned research on children's views of diet and health. The information is also provided in Spanish, French, Italian and German.

International Food Information Council Foundation (IFIC)
An industry supported body which promotes information on food and food safety to press, health educators and the public. Their web site is a particularly good source of lay material, pamphlets etc.
International Food Policy Research Institute
"The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) was established in 1975 to identify and analyze alternative national and international strategies and policies for meeting food needs of the developing world on a sustainable basis, with particular emphasis on low-income countries and on the poorer groups in those countries. IFPRI is one of the 16 research centers in the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research" Web site has organisational information and news releases.

Huge range of agriculture-related data bases, information sheets, legislation, directories etc. Includes food industry, pesticides, farming etc. Listed alphabetically and has search engine.The information returned is a data base entry on the what, when and where, but has hypertext links where the resource is accessible.

Agriculture and Agrifood Canada
Can conveniently search the resources of this agricultural information site. It allows access to Canadian Food Inspection Agency, National Farm Products Council, Canadian Dairy Commission, Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency, Canadian Rural Partnership, and the Review Tribunal.
FAO World Agricultural Information Center
An FAO project to make information on its agricutural and nutrition projects more widely available. There is material on the CODEX also available, as well as various papers and conference reports etc.
Food Outlook (FAO)
Newsletter providing "Global Information and Early Warning System" from FAO with statistics and reports on food and crop situation worldwide.
Food, Nutrition and Agriculture
Journal of FAO, "covering topics such as community nutrition, food quality and safety, nutrition assessment, nutrient requirements, food security and rural development.
