Part of Medbook, claimed to be the world's largest on-line book store for medical books, this is a listing with standard citation details, and allows you to order straight off the web.

Lippincott Williams and Wilkins: Dietetics and Nutrition Books

Tables of contents and publishing details, and the opportunity to purchase, but no actual book content are to be found in this part of the medical publisher's web site.

National Academy Press

National Academy Press publishes a range of technical publications, including reports from the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine. These are available on-line: see below. for the publishers material at large. The site also has a search engine, which you can point at nutrition texts.

WHO publications 1991-1996: Nutrition, deficiency diseases

List of WHO publications relating to nutrition, particularly public health, and developing world issues, which are available from them. Each has a short paragraph description and ordering information, but not the actual content.

Women's Nutrition Books

Listing of books supposedly relevant to women's nutrition in this general and profesional OB-GYN resource site. Some books have brief descriptions available and all have ordering information from Amizon Books. Many are popular or alternative nutrition flavour.

Searchable access to the content of this famous encyclopaedia, with plenty of nutrition and food material. But you will have to subscribe to get full text access.

Nutrition for a Living Planet

One vegetarian guy's personal perspective based on his reading of nutrition research has resulted in his writing this book, which is placed on-line from this index page. Plain text, a few references. See also his home page.

National Academy Press

Excellent resource! National Academy Press has provided information on its range of technical publications, which includes a set of on-line nutrition reports from the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine. Subjects include: public health, RDI and dietary guidelines, iron deficiency, pregnancy and nutrition for the military, high altitude and cold environments. The texts are provided as page by page views, and as well there are table of contents and thumbnail views to help navigate.

Nice colourful graphic of the book and full table of contents, but no content on-line.

 

 

Internet Guide for Dietitians

Although this web site has only ordering information without real content, in this case the book is about our favourite subject so we included it! At least until we get hold of a copy to see if it has the Arbor Nutrition Guide listed in it!!

Sites related to a popular `best-seller' on weight control called The Zone includes an applet to calculate your body fat, as well as a FAQ section and more.
