Something of a personal crusade by physician Dr.Stephen Barrett, this site contains a mixture of short and long articles by him on various practices which he believes to be unscientific or scams of one sort or another, many of which have a nutritional flavour. There are also other resources, including the repor on Unconventional Cancer Treatments from the Office of Technology Assessment , and a dictionary of unconventional approaches to health and healing. There is a search engine.

Courtesy of Quackwatch, the Office of Technology Assessment's report on "Unconventional Cancer Treatments" from 1990, which has an entire chapter on unconventional dietary approaches, including such examples as the Gerson, Kelley and Gonzalez regimens, macrobiotic diet and coffee enemas. Closely referenced.

American College for Advancement in Medicine

This site contains listings of members, conference information and `bookstore' for ordering only. "
American Holistic Medical Association
General preventive and alternative medical group, which has an on-line journal and some of which relates to nutrition.
 
National Council Against Health Fraud

Austin appear to be a supplement company, and this is an essentially very brief, lay-oriented summary information on vitamins, minerals, herbs etc. with an alternative bent.
Environmental and Preventive Health Center of Atlanta
Series of short articles on environmental/nutrition material, of an alternative bent (candida, chronic fatigue, mercury poisoning, iron overload etc. )
Healthy Ideas
Web site launched by Prevention Magazine and Women's Wire for lay audience dealing with general health, from a natural and naturopathic perspective, particularly relating to children and women's issues. There is a strong nutrition focus, including recipes, vitamin supplement ideas (on a dial-a-vitamin type of approach and mainly unreferenced)
HealthComm; functional medicine
Company founded by Jeffrey Bland to focus on "biochemical individuality, metabolic balance, ecological context, and unique personal experience in the dynamics of health." In practice, a lot of alternative nutritional approaches are used. This site has a good deal of information about the company and its research and promotional activities and some introduction to the concepts of functional medicine, but not much in the way of direct clinical teaching material.
Macrobiotics Online
From Kushi Institute, information on courses, healthy vacations and about their own organisation and its products.
Not Milk
Man with a mission - in this case why he thinks milk is very bad for you. He has written a book on the subject which this site is partly a promotion for. But it also has its own content. His concerns focus on milk allergy and particularly in the alien substances such as antibiotics, hormones and pesticides that he states wind up in milk.
Nutramed: Environmed Research Inc.
Environmental nutrition organisation with a commercial string. The site has lots of alternative nutrition material, much of it expressing individual viewpoints. "You will find here a rich source of nutritional information, and an introduction to innovative solutions such as the Core Program."

Commercial site. Has a newsletter with articles on various alternative nutrition approaches, and a disease indexed section entitled "Nutritional Therapy" which recommends nutritional supplements from a particular commercial range.

Since we don't understand Hungarian we are unable to say too much about this web site, which appears to be promoting some nutrition product (English information is provided) as well as Nutrigenie nutrition analysis software, and has some other general nutrition information. Perhaps the most useful part of the site is a table with translations of a large number of foods in English, Hungarian, German and proper botanical names
