Brazilian food industry companies: Use this site to list from on-line business directory food industry companies. Listings supply contact details, including email and web page information.
Nutritionist registration organisation for Brazil: Conselho Regional de Nutricionistas - 4ª Região, this web site is in Portugese and has information on the regulations, courses, examinations etc.as well as more general material on dietetics and nutrition practice in Brazil.
Brazil: NutriNews: Brasilian food industry magazine directed towards the catering, restaurants, fast food,and hotel business. The site has industry and course information and news but, although an introductory page is available in English, most of it is in Portugese.
Brazil: National Executive Student Board of Nutrition: For those of you who speak Portugese: "A Executiva Nacional dos Estudantes de Nutrição é uma entidade de todos os estudantes de Nutrição do Brasil. Sua função primordial é representar esses estudantes em todos os âmbitos". For the rest of us, this web page has information on all graduate courses on nutrition in Brazil, on the organisation itself, links to nutrition sites on the Internet, a newsletter and membership list. It is a very helpful resource for getting to know about nutrition teaching in Brazil, They are promising an English version around about May '97.
Nutrição Online: Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Brazil: From Departamento de Nutrição Centro de Ciências da Saúde Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, departmental web site with information about faculty and also abstracts on micronutrients (the latter in English).

Institute of Nutrition list: Good selection of French and Canadian nutrition sites
Rouen University Hospital list: Quite a good list, and (as of 12/98) updated regularly, part of a virtual library site from Rouen University Hospital. There is also a section on food and drink.

France: Le ministère de l’Agriculture et de la Pêche: In French, this government web site has information on food and agriculture industry in France, and on research and other government progams in this area, The site has general information about the Ministry's activities in the food safety and other nutrition areas, including an on-line newsletter Notre Alimentation.
Canada: Direction de la santé publique de Montréal-Centre: Links, recipes, and short nutrition lay information `clips'.
INSERM: Unité Nutrition, métabolisme lipoprotéique et athérosclérose (Rennes): A unit of INSERM (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale - the French equivalent of NIH) based in Rennes. This web page has organisational and research information in French.
l'Association Francaise de Nutrition: In French, this web site has information on meetings, links,organisational details etc.
CERIN: Center for Research and Information on Nutrition (France): "a scientific organization which develops programmes in nutrition for health professionals." Most of the web pages are in French. Web site has short samples of bibliographic data bases, nutrition newsletters for nutrition and health professionals (Nutri-doc, and information on publications available (but not published on-line). There are episodic issues of their other publication Choledoc on-line and information in English about the organisation (but not any of the resources).

Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal: Nutrition in the elderly is one of their research specialties, but there is little information on the web site about it at present. Also has English version.

Le Collectif Action Alternative en Obésité: Fat acceptance site from Canada.
Danone Institute: This organisation, based on a food company, produces lots of excellent material for lay and particularly health professional use in French. Included is a quarterly publication for health professionals which is available on-line (see below)
NUTRINOV: nutrition et innovation pour l'agro-alimentaire: In French, this is the web site of a company that makes agricultural and food products has a web site with links and lay information. It has a good on-line monthly magazine called Britta Nutrition which features articles on general food and nutrition topics, written by experts.
Ordre professionnel des Diététistes du Québec: Brief information on the organisation and what the profession does. There is also a version in English.
Société Scientifique d' Hygiène Alimentaire: The site appears to be entirely private at present. ,DT> Canada: Univeresity of Montreal, Dpt. Nutrition; Departmental information, links, some FAQ.

Other resources in French

Danone Institute: Bibliothèque des Professionnels de la Santé: A quarterly publication from the Danone Institute in France which features good scientific articles written for health professionals on nutrition topics, such as sports nuturtion, food additives, alcohol, women's health, nutrition and immunity. The articles are in French, and are short but written by experts. There are also articles on different foods.
